Mad City Windows and Baths is looking to add a new Purchasing Manager to the team here in Madison, WI! The Purchasing Manager has the primary responsibility of ensuring all products are being ordered by the purchasing processors and all products are being shipped and accounted for by the vendors daily. Purchasing Managers will oversee all purchasing coordinators who review all measurement documents and pictures, comparing information to what is on the contract specifications to create all customer orders on a per job basis. They are required to ensure all confirmations on orders are coming back from vendors and purchasing staff is confirming accuracy of the order-to-contract and change order specifications.

Essential Functions: 

• Leading and executing purchasing strategies

• Process reorders for all locations and update report accordingly

• Oversee the daily flow and completion of all orders that staff is fulfilling

• Assist in management of measure techs unresolved issues

• Coach and provide feedback to purchasing team as needed

• Conduct interviews for potential new hires

• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for all purchasing team members

• Tracking and reporting to improve effectiveness

• Confirms order accuracy with vendors

• Serve as the go to for any staff related questions or concerns

• Verify if certain materials can be ordered through Inventory system

• Responsible for contacting customer and Sales Reps for contract and measure discrepancies. Must document

• Fill in on ordering product upon employee sick days, vacation days, staff shortages and volume spikes

• Ongoing training of current staff as well as new staff

Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)

• 1-2 years in the remodeling or construction industry preferred

• Able to type at least 40 wpm

• Detail oriented within a fast-paced environment

• Integrating information from multiple sources quickly and accurately

• Gathering and analyzing data

• Able to work independently as well as with teams across the organization

• Ability to multitask and prioritize

• Excellent communication skills

• Construction knowledge preferred
